Downtown Façade & Reinvestment Grant Program
The Gunnison Chamber Foundation is offering one pilot Downtown Façade & Reinvestment Grant to support visible exterior improvements to a commercial or mixed-use building within Gunnison’s Central Business District. The grant is intended to encourage reinvestment in existing buildings, enhance the visual character of Main Street and adjacent downtown corridors, and support the long-term vitality of Gunnison’s commercial core.
For this pilot round, one selected project may receive reimbursement for up to 50 percent of eligible project costs, not to exceed $4,000. This is a reimbursement-based grant. The selected applicant is responsible for paying project costs upfront, and reimbursement will be issued only after approved work is completed and required documentation is submitted.
Eligible improvements may include storefront improvements, exterior painting or murals, masonry repair or façade cleaning, exterior lighting, awnings or canopies, permanent signage integrated into a façade project, restoration of architectural details, publicly visible entrance improvements, and accessibility improvements integrated into the building exterior.
Applications open July 15 and are due by August 28. Applications will be reviewed by the Gunnison Chamber Foundation Board of Directors, with a grant decision anticipated by September 3 and notification to applicants by September 4.
All projects must comply with applicable City of Gunnison codes, permitting, and approval requirements.
