What Are Greenbacks?

Gunnison Greenbacks are a local holiday tradition designed to encourage shopping close to home and keep more dollars circulating in our community.


Created by the Gunnison Country Chamber of Commerce, Greenbacks work like cash and can be used at participating Gunnison businesses.


Each year, the Chamber hosts a special Holiday Greenback Exchange in early December. During this limited-time event, shoppers can purchase discounted Greenbacks, such as exchanging $80 for $100 in Greenbacks, adding extra value while encouraging local holiday spending.


Every Greenback spent supports Gunnison businesses and helps keep money working close to home.


**Business Redemption**


Businesses that accept Gunnison Greenbacks can redeem them through the Gunnison Country Chamber of Commerce.


Simply bring collected Greenbacks to the Chamber office at 500 E. Tomichi Avenue, and the Chamber will issue payment to your business by check.
