Downtown Façade & Reinvestment Grant Program
The Gunnison Chamber Foundation’s Downtown Façade & Reinvestment Grant Program supports visible exterior improvements to commercial and mixed-use buildings within Gunnison’s Central Business District.
The program is designed to encourage reinvestment in existing buildings, enhance the visual character of Main Street and adjacent downtown corridors, and strengthen the long-term vitality of Gunnison’s commercial core.
During the pilot phase, grants are awarded on a matching basis and may reimburse up to 50 percent of eligible project costs, not to exceed $4,000 per project. Funding is limited and awards are subject to available resources.
Eligible improvements include exterior façade upgrades such as storefront improvements, painting, masonry repair, lighting, signage integrated into façade projects, restoration of architectural details, and other visible enhancements that improve the public-facing experience of an active commercial building.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis during the pilot phase and are reviewed by the Foundation Board of Directors. All projects must comply with applicable City of Gunnison codes and permitting requirements.
